Child sex probe arrest
Date published: 17 March 2011
AN OLDHAM man has been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into child sexual exploitation in Rochdale.
The 58-year-old was arrested at Windsor Road, Coppice, yesterday on suspicion of sexual assault and false imprisonment and remains in police custody for questioning.
Fourteen other men, aged between 20 and 43 and from Rochdale and Heywood, have previously been arrested on suspicion of rape, inciting child prostitution, allowing premises to be used for prostitution and sexual activity with a child.
They remain on police bail pending further inquiries.
The arrests are the result of an inquiry into the sexual exploitation of teenage girls by men since 2008.
It’s claimed Asian men groomed teenage white girls for sex.
Neighbours in Windsor Road described the arrest yesterday and said a car was taken away by police and a house searched by officers.
